A multifaceted Canal

Bordered by centuries-old chestnut trees and spanned by elegant walkways, the Canal Saint Martin invites you to romanticism and to contemplate the surrounding nature. Pretty little chic and colorful shops and a multitude of trendy bistros have taken place on its banks and Parisians like to meet there for strolling, picnicking, taking a cruise or having a drink. In the evening, the neighborhood changes to make room for hundreds of passers-by, tourists and residents alike on the canal for an aperitif.

On sunny days, the Canal turns into a party place! A major center for Parisian nightlife and youth, the Canal offers, in addition to its numerous bistros, wine bars and restaurants, renowned parties and cultural venues, such as the Bizzart restaurant-club dedicated to Soul music, the Café A or Le Point Ephémère bars-restaurants, places for concerts and exhibitions. Also taking a drink for an aperitif on a canal cruise at dusk is a rare moment and very appreciated by connoisseurs and experienced visitors.

At the northern end of the Canal, the Parc de la Villette offers a space for relaxation, activities and walking very popular with Parisians. It is a multidisciplinary cultural space which offers a multitude of leisure activities. You can visit the Cité des Sciences, the Music Museum, the Géode ... go to the circus, the theater (Tarmac, Théatre Paris Villette) or see concerts in prestigious concert halls including the famous Paris Zenith.
