The world city of the Jet set
From the corsair city dominated by its 16th century citadel to the fishing village of the beginning of the 20th century, the first town liberated when the Provence landed became in the 1950s an internationally known seaside resort on the Var Côte d'Azur thanks to the craze of artists from the New Wave and then Yéyés.
Then, finally, a resort of the European, American, Russian and Russian Jet set like tourists in search of Provençal authenticity or celebrities.
Trendy cafes, imposing yachts, luxury boutiques, handcrafted ice creams and very close to the port of Saint Tropez. Divided into a marina and an older port, we find on its shores different categories of populations between rich foreign tourists and local fishermen. On the quay not far from the Annonciade museum are exhibiting painters. Opposite, the lighthouse and the Jean Réveille promenade offer a privileged view of the port.
The port offers a long promenade on its edge filled with restaurants with imposing and refined terraces, to sip a glass of wine. Behind the quay of the port, many alleys dot the old village of St Tropez, which will delight all lovers of the most romantic walks.
